Road
eCall is a pan-European in-vehicle emergency service aimed at reducing the effects of accidents in Europe. eCall allows the communication between an In Vehicle System (IVS), a device with a GSM connectivity and GPS location capability, and a corresponding infrastructure of Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs). It is a system built on E112, the location enhanced version of 112 and it will be available in all vehicles, irrespective of brand, country and actual location of the vehicle. The large-scale roll-out of eCall was a priority goal by European institutions since 2002 and is now becoming a reality. ALPHA Consult is well positioned to help clients in understanding and exploiting eCall opportunities.
